IELTS Speaking Part 1

1. Can you tell me your full name?

Band 6.5: My full name is Ramesh Patel.
Band 7.5: My full name is Ramesh Patel, but most people just call me Ramesh.
Band 8.5: My full name is Ramesh Patel. Friends usually call me Ramesh, though in formal settings I prefer being addressed with both my first and last name.

2. Where are you from?

Band 6.5: I am from Anand, a small city in Gujarat.
Band 7.5: I come from Anand, which is in Gujarat. It is mostly known for Amul, the dairy brand.
Band 8.5: I am from Anand, a city in Gujarat often called the Milk Capital of India because of Amul. It has a mix of traditional charm and modern lifestyle, which I really enjoy.

3. Do you work or study?

Band 6.5: I work as an English teacher in Anand.
Band 7.5: I work as an IELTS tutor in an institute in Anand. I like helping students with their speaking and writing.
Band 8.5: I am currently working as an IELTS trainer in a private institute in Anand. My role mainly involves guiding students to improve their communication skills, which I find both challenging and rewarding.

4. What do you usually do in your free time?

Band 6.5: I watch TV or go out with friends in Anand.
Band 7.5: In my free time, I usually read books or spend time with friends at local cafés in Anand.
Band 8.5: I often spend my free time reading non-fiction or exploring new cafés in Anand. This helps me relax and gives me fresh ideas to use in my teaching.

5. Do you enjoy living in your hometown?

Band 6.5: Yes, Anand is good. It is peaceful.
Band 7.5: Yes, I enjoy living in Anand. It is calm and people are friendly.
Band 8.5: Definitely. I enjoy living in Anand because it has a peaceful environment, good educational institutes, and a strong sense of community. Compared to bigger cities, life here feels less stressful and more comfortable.
